Vote for Pedro!

I had the dubious pleasure of coming up with the topic this week, so here it is. "If you were running for President, what would your policies be and what would you say to get elected?" (I know, I am deep...like a spoon)

Well, fortunately for me and the rest of the country, there is no way in hell that I would get elected...not that I would want that job! For one thing, there are way too many skeletons in my closets and I would have to explain the whole "yes, I inhaled" thing and the other somewhat reckless periods of my life of which there are probably pictures that I know nothing about.

Secondly, why would anyone want this job? Besides the whole egotistical power trip and ability to use nuclear weapons which probably makes you feel like a superhero thing. Hmm...on second thought.

But really, this is why I would not get elected ~ I would make the wealthy pay more taxes and lighten the burden on everyone else. I would seriously fine the oil/gas company bastards for their ridiculously large salaries and profits while also screwing us without buying us dinner first! I would legalize gay marriage completely (I would also make it OK for them to adopt..yeah, stick that in your pipe and smoke it). I would abolish slavery...ahem, raise minimum wage. People who recycle, use solar energy and other green methods would receive serious tax breaks. Patriot Act and Homeland Security would be a dim memory. And mandatory 6 weeks vacation for every working American!

I think that I would have to hire Jon Stewart as my Press Secretary. Lastly, Air Force One would be redecorated like the Austin Powers plane.

Patronutus

Last week "the other Kim" asked "If you had a patronus what would yours be and why?"

I was tempted to say Cock (you know, a Rooster). Then I thought squirrel, well because I am nuts. However, seeing as how I am such a complex women, the appropriate patronus without question is a Chimera. For those of you who are not familiar with this, it is a mythical creature made up of various animals. Typically it has the head (sometimes body) of a lion, sometimes body (and head) of a she-goat, a dragon tail and eagle wings. See...complicated. Like an onion, I got layers.

Fate

So I am behind on my PSS posts....sorry, life with a newborn! (Who is doing great by the way) Shane's question for last week was "Do you believe in Fate/ How has it impacted (or not) your life?"

I definitely think that there are parts to my life that have been planned out for me, so I would say that I do believe it fate. For example, I had a lot of really shitty things happen throughout my life as a kid (not the worst life mind you, but more than most people I knew ever went through). All of that I think prepared me and made me stronger to face the hardship of losing our son and I think it also made me able to help D through it. I am not saying that people are destined for each other or that I have no control in my life, I just feel that there has been intervention and direction from something bigger than me, regardless of what you call it.

That said, I will share my dad's favorite quote about fate and ultimately determination. "There is no chance, no destiny, no fate, that can circumvent or hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul."
